Mapping Matters
This work showcases my research and how it connects to various professions I may pursue in the future, including typography, illustration, branding, and more. After completing my studies, I plan to begin my career as a junior graphic designer at a studio, where I can further develop my understanding of the professional landscape. My long-term goal is to become a freelancer and run my own business, a path I have already started exploring.

Salt and Sister Studio
This studio was founded by two sisters, specialising in typography and illustration. They started the studio because they were tired of working for large companies and wanted to invest their energy into something meaningful. I really admire the typography they use in their projects.

Foreign Policy
I've looked into this studio because they create work that aligns with my interests and share values that I would want my own business to reflect, or that I would seek in a company I’d want to work for. They are an award-winning design and innovation consultancy that understands the world is much bigger than just pixels, and that great design goes beyond just good looks.

Kelly Belter

This artist profoundly inspires me with her illustrations. I am particularly drawn to the personal quality of her work, which is enhanced by her use of risograph and screenprinting techniques. This approach makes each piece unique, as no print is ever identical to another, adding a distinct sense of individuality to her creations.

Memory studio
Memory Studio specializes in creating lasting brands, immersive identities, and engaging products for forward-thinking clients. As a small but dedicated studio, they pursue excellence in their craft while partnering with like-minded collaborators who are committed to making a meaningful impact on their audience, industry, and environment.

Secret Riso Club

This is an artist-run space that nurtures creative practice at the intersection of art, design, learning, publishing, printing, activism, and community building. Through their work, they strive to create a platform that fosters collaboration, enabling the development of new ideas and projects. I wholeheartedly support this initiative, as it emphasizes the importance of artists supporting one another.

Sloan Brown

Sloan is a passionate collaborator, experimentalist, and storyteller. With years of experience working with agencies, sportswear brands, and independent shops as a freelance artist, she has honed her ability to work effectively with others while consistently delivering high-quality results. This journey closely aligns with my own vision for my professional career: to work within a studio or company, gain valuable skills and insights, and ultimately apply them to enrich my own practice.

Golden Studio
This studio operates in both the UK and the USA, with its UK office located in Leeds, where I am based. I greatly appreciate the type of content they produce. The studio has collaborated with prominent brands such as Nike, Coca-Cola, Rites (book cover), PlayStation, Footlocker, and others.

Tyrsa Studios
This studio is based in France, and he focus on branding and typography. His work feels very handmade/ personal. Over the years, Tyrsa collaborated with major global brands such as Nike or Louis Vuitton, as well as figures in the music industry like Childish Gambino or J.Cole, crafting unique visual identities and campaigns. His work stands out for its clean, bold compositions that combine creativity and precision.

Lemm & Kirch
The studio was founded in 2012 after several years of collaboration within and outside of our studies at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. They are a small office of five people and depending on the task at hand, we are joined by colleagues from various disciplines, with whom we collaborate on projects.

TSTO
Tsto is a graphic design studio founded in 2010, with a focus on visual identities, publications, websites, motion & typography. In addition to our team, we regularly work with an extensive network of collaborators from different field

Hattie Clark

Hattie Clark is a freelance illustrator based in Neighbourhood, Leeds. She loves to draw friendly people, playful animals, and buildings, all in my wobbly style. She works both digitally and by hand, using her favourite brush & ink. Whether it's digital or traditional, she aims to fill her illustrations with warmth, character, and playful elements.

Pink Pony Creative
Pink Pony Creative is a brand design agency buzzing with colour, creativity, inspiration and excitement. I have loved all the work they have created for their clients, and this company is an all-female company, which is something that is inspiring. They specialise in fun and playful design, which is my style of design.

Holy Crab Studio
This is a studio that is based on branding and used a lot of typography in their designs. They have a childish yet fun kind of feel to their publications.

Jannah

Jannah is a brand designer and freelancer, and I love the work she creates. I really want to become a freelancer and work for myself one day, so seeing her work and what she has done for herself inspires me to reach this goal one day. I enjoy the types of typography that she used as well as the illustrations that she created, and brand design is something that I am really becoming interested in and want to pursue in the future.

The View From Berlin
Stickers are the visual language spoken by Berlin’s creative and activist communities, with a prominence and impact comparable to the graffiti-laden landscapes of other major cities around the world. Berlin has been home to one of the world’s only dedicated sticker museums. Located in the Friedrichshain district of the city, expert and collector Oliver Baudach’s Hatch Sticker Museum collection includes upwards of 30,000 examples.

Neighbourhood Branding

Place branding, particularly for neighbourhoods and smaller communities, is tricky business. Visually summing up a city is one thing but community branding projects for local districts and boroughs are held to another standard – and rightly so.

Morag Myerscough

Morag has a strong visual approach and is
instantly recognisable and elevates every context in which it is placed. Her work is rooted in creating a sense of joy and belonging for all those who encounter it. She often works with community groups to develop ideas that reflect the identity of the users, which I think is a great way to get people to interact with her visuals. I really enjoy how the visuals she create are pysical and you can go and see them in person.

Jacek Rudzki - Graphic Design
Jacek Rudzki's influence is his four-year-old daughter Maja as “the biggest inspiration” behind his work. “I love to observe her creative freedom, ignorance of the rules, and just having fun with the process.” He is always keeping the joy alive. In his freelance pursuits, Jacek has covered commissions in the worlds of publication design, album cover design, culture and branding.

Juri Okita’s Restaurant Concept

Food waste is a hot-button issue in today’s climate. Juri designed an identity for a restaurant concept named Wabi. Juri wanted to “show the beauty of imperfection in food waste” Juri produced an incredibly refined yet fun collection of food menus while keeping to her take on imperfectio.

Omar Mohammad

Omar’s work has an infusion of tech and
engineering with art and typography. I really enjoy the minimalist style that the Bamyan typeface has and typography is something that I am really interested in and would love to go into in the future. Omar’s work on the Bamyan typeface is a great example of how art and design can revive a culture and bring new ideas and concepts into the conversation.

Anthony Burrill And Oswin Tickler - Abstract Nature Of Type
In a recent collaboration with designer and educator Oswin Tickler, the graphic artist has broken his traditional medium of letterpress type out of its strict grid with a creative coding system that produces prints with “a fluid complexity that would be difficult to attain using traditional methods.”

Yinka Ilori And Walala Designs
Yinka’s contribution to the exhibition, titled Dancing Ribbons, is inspired by rhythmic gymnastics. In particular, the work captures the dynamic relationship between a gymnast and their prop ribbon.

Brent Rollins

With Brent Rollins' work, he does a variety of collage work and also printmaking. I really enjoy the print he has made and can enjoy the collage, but that isn’t something that I see myself doing in the future. The prints he makes are very busy and filled with imagery.

Tomas Trum’s
Rendered with non-traditional tools – a road marking machine, a brush attached to a drill and custom paint guns that gradually change colour – Thomas Trum’s paintings are a wonder to watch in process. Creating impressions at various scales, on paper to expansive facades, the artist is “fascinated by the idea of leaving traces behind”.

CLOUDS - Sandro
Sandro Rybak is an Illustrator and Graphic Designer working as a freelancer since 2016, he loves to explore weird and colorful shapes while combining a digital airbrush aesthetic with a contemporary twist. To create a visual experience that evokes a feeling of nostalgia, he mostly draws inspiration from the past and anything that falls into the realm of science fiction or fantasy. In this projects hes created what looks like a 3D flower but hes just used a combination og shapes and colours to trick the mind into thinking this.

Limoo Park

Limoo Perk is a illustrator who keeps her paint brush thick, it has a very child like feel to it which I quite like. Limoo believes that her colours and compositions are allowed to take centre stage, becoming more lively and intriguing. What stands out to me is the pleasing colour combinations, warm oranges paired with rich blues and greens, the lack of shading or detail allowing the perfectly mixed colours to sing.

SHN Debut Album
Here developed the photography direction and designed the structure of the album as well as booklet that comes with it. Presented in a life-in-a-day / AM-PM narrative, the booklet is split into two sections that can be viewed two ways —
as you would a regular book, or open flat to see both sections simultaneously.

Halfcourt Hotel
Sloan was asked to illustrate a 28 X 24 ft vinyl to advertise outside the Erwin Hotel. In addition, she transformed a vacant take-out pizza shop into a fully decorated vinyl promotion for Red Bull’s 3X3 event.

Natasha Lucas

Natasha is a design studio specialising in visual identity. She has designed several explorative typefaces. She has recently published a family of typefaces, Orca, Minke and Beluga, which are rounded geometric shapes and negative space. Her previous typeface is the free-flowing quality of the curves that still sit within its geometric constraints. I think the typefaces she has created look great and are in a style that I really enjoy.
